Ms. Wolf offers three unique virtual courses that are tailored to each individual or group’s needs. The suggested time frame is for four 90-minute sessions, but can also be distributed as six 60-minute sessions, as preferred. There is a free initial consultation.

A four-session introduction that teaches essential techniques in music memorization as well as strategies to combat stage fright. 

Professional Development and Mentoring

A four-session consultation for individuals or groups that gives entrepreneurial guidance (including how to found a 501(c)3), in order to expand musical careers in new and creative directions.

Conquering Technical Problems at the Piano

A four-session introduction to conquering the source of technical problems (pain, tightness, velocity issues, among many others), leading onto a path toward recovery and new technical solutions.

  • Memorization Techniques: ten time-tested methodical techniques that secure music memory.

  • Physiology of Performance: adrenaline, diet, exercise, musicians as athletes. 

  • Psychology of Performance: practical psychological techniques that improve focus. 

  • Philosophy of Performance: performance mission and its link to losing fear of performing.

Course description

Playing from memory is often considered a pianist’s greatest feat, but for many pianists it is also the greatest source of fear. Yet memorization as such is rarely taught in the study of piano; at best, it is taught haphazardly. As a result, many pianists memorize their pieces without thoroughly understanding the memorization process. When unsystematic memorization is paired with general performance anxiety, the result can be a nightmare. Eve Wolf’s four-part, practical course examines memory and performance anxiety issues to improve performance and the experience of performing.

Ms. Wolf has taught Memorization Techniques privately and in group classes, including at the Curtis Institute of Music; the Conservatorio Pollini in Padua, Italy; the Conservatorio di Musica Luca Marenzio in Brescia, Italy; as well as in her private studio in New York City.


Professional Development and Mentoring

Course content

  • Four sessions for professional musicians (individuals or chamber groups) to develop new entrepreneurial ideas for themselves and their ensembles.

  • Guidance in creating new musical organizations, including how to structure them and how to found not-for-profit organizations (501C-3).

  • Creative sessions in which musicians can discuss and get advice on how to expand their careers into multi-media, recording, and multi-genre avenues.

  • Advice for new not-for-profit organizations – goal-setting and problem-solving, board formation, board governance.

  • Sessions for brainstorming marketing, image, branding, and mission (for individuals or chamber groups).

  • Tactics for surviving the current music career climate. 

Course description

Currently, a career in music requires many survival skills. Just playing well is not enough! Individuals and chamber ensembles must be creative entrepreneurs who can navigate multi-faceted careers that extend into other areas, and they must also be business-savvy.

As the Founder (2001) and Executive Artistic Director of Ensemble for the Romantic Century, and now the leader of ERC’s new Radio Drama Division, Ms. Wolf has navigated every aspect of the process of developing a successful organization. She has tapped into her knowledge as a musician and writer and has nurtured the Ensemble from its modest beginnings to its current stature as a critically acclaimed institution on the New York cultural scene. Ms. Wolf is particularly enthusiastic about guiding young musicians and artists who choose to form new organizations or to create innovative projects. 

Ms. Wolf has been a Professional Mentor at The Juilliard School and lectured there in a series, “Thinking Out of the Box,” during which she lectured and discussed the development of entrepreneurial, multi-disciplinary projects in music.


Conquering Technical Problems at the Piano

(For individual students of any level)

Course content

  • Four sessions to correctly diagnose the source of technical problems and pain experienced at the piano.

  • Direction in beginning to undo the effects of improper training.

  • Discussions of the psychology of pain and perfectionism.

  • Assessment of repertoire. Is incorrect repertoire causing technical problems?

  • Study of one or two repertoire pieces that will open a path toward undoing improper training. 

Course description

Unfortunately, many pianists (at every level) have been improperly trained. The result is tightness, inability to “get around” the keyboard, pain, and the frustrations and anxieties connected with playing the piano. This consultation will serve to diagnose the basic physical issues that need investigating and correcting to play the piano without tightness and pain. Ultimately this consultation will also lead to a greater potential for expressing oneself musically and enjoying the piano to a much greater extent, since technical solutions are inseparable from musical ideas.
